This course introduces the foundational relationship between text and image. Students learn how to read a manuscript critically, extract core narrative themes, and brainstorm initial visual concepts for children's books, fiction, and graphic novels.

• Creating a rough book dummy (pacing and pagination)
• Visual storytelling without text (wordless spreads)

• Sketchbook or multi-media paper pad (A4 or letter size)
• Soft graphite pencils (2B, 4B) and erasers
• Basic black fineliner pens
• Ruler and scissors for dummy book construction
