Advanced Physical Actions & Weight Interaction
Short Introduction: Move beyond basic locomotion into heavy physical exertions. Students learn how forces travel through a character’s entire body when interacting with heavy props and structural environments.
Instructor Profile
Prerequisites
Description
Topics Covered: Kinetic chains, counter-balance, secondary motion, push/pull mechanics, step-by-step climbing physics, and drag/overlapping action on sub-elements.
Course Objectives: To master the illusion of weight and resistance, proving that a character is physically interacting with an environmental force.
Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to animate a character lifting a heavy box, pulling a high-tension rope, and climbing an obstacle with clear physical struggle.
Tools & Materials: Autodesk Maya or Blender, video recording equipment (for self-reference filming), and a biped character rig with environmental props (box, rope, ledge).
