LOW LOG INTERGRATION & LIVE-EDGE JOINERY
Artist Profile
Prerequisites
Description
This workshop focuses on the bridge between raw nature and refined architecture. It teaches students how to treat and integrate natural logs and "live-edge" wood into high-end interiors.
The Focus: Stabilizing raw wood (debarking, sanding, and sealing), creating "Log Accents" for structural columns, and designing custom furniture using organic tree trunk cross-sections.
Curriculum Link: Directly supports Pillar 3 (Materiality) and Pillar 2 (Furniture Anatomy) by teaching the physical properties of untreated timber.
Platform Idea: Local carpentry hubs or specialized woodworking schools like The Woodworking School often provide specific intensives on working with raw timber slabs.
